- 2 slices Shokupan or sliced bread
- 2 tbsp salted butter room temperature
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar divided
- 4 tbsp cake flour or all purpose flour 1/4 cup
- 1/8 tsp vanilla extract
Mix soft butter at room temperature and 1 tbsp sugar in a small bowl. Add vanilla and mix well. Add the flour and mix until smooth.
Spread the butter mixture on the surface of the bread. Score with a knife diagonally in a grid pattern. Sprinkle the rest of the sugar and toast in the oven or bake at 350F until lightly browned.
