Miso Soup with Bacon, Cabbage, and Onion

Ingredients

  • 1/2 onion
  • 1/4 - 1/3 cabbage
  • 4 slices bacon (thick cut)
  • 4 cups water
  • 2 tsp instant dashi powder
  • 4-5 tbsp Miso paste

Instructions 

  • Slice onion thinly, and cut cabbage into bite size pieces. Cut bacon thinly.
  • Heat a medium size pot and saute bacon at medium heat for a few minutes. Remove oil with a paper towel.
  • Add onion, cabbage, water, and instant dashi powder. Cover and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Add the miso paste and turn off the heat.
